Happy New Year! I had trouble falling asleep last night because I kept thinking about the year ahead. There are so many things that I am worried about that are beyond my control which frustrates me even more. However, I still have some goals that I want to achieve in 2018. New year, new goals!
Lose Weight
Yes, I know. This is everyone’s goal for the new year. I used to be such a gym rat and go to the gym almost every day and I loved it! I loved how I felt leaving the gym. This year, I need to recommit myself to making time to go the gym.
After seeing Rach Parcell’s BBG Journey on her blog, it motivated me to get serious about making a commitment to working out again. She is also a working mom and felt the need to get rid of her “mom body”. After having my youngest son, I wasn’t able to bounce back as quickly as I did with the twins. In Rachel’s post, she mentioned how she felt, how she started slowly, and how she made a commitment to waking up early to do the workouts. I’ve decided to do the same. I am going to commit to work out 3 days a week and focus on cleaning up my eating habits. My husband and I have been eating way too much pizza and we need to reign that back in.
I downloaded the BBG program and started it over the weekend. I did the first two workouts of the first week of the program and I’m still sore! I want to commit and hope to have similar results as Rachel!
Streamline My Wardrobe
My husband and I have a lot of clothes and shoes. We converted a bedroom in our house into a walk in closet with custom shelving and drawers. I take really good care of my clothes so I find myself saving clothes that I don’t wear any more just because they are in good condition and I spent a lot of money on them. I need to let go of items that I no longer wear and sell or donate them. It will make getting dressed each day a lot easier and help clean out my closet.
Increase My Savings
I have always been good at saving money. I don’t buy a lot of expensive bags or shoes and instead save my money to invest in our home. Next year, I want to move back to the town that I grew up in which is more expensive that where we currently live. It’s a family friendly town with great schools, lots of restaurants, a better commute, and we would be a lot closer to my parents and friends. However, the taxes and home prices are a lot higher than where we currently live. We have been working on saving for a large down payment in order to keep our monthly mortgage payment similar to what we are currently paying. It’s been a goal of ours for a while so we are continuing to save in order to achieve this goal next year.
What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Did you make any?
