Once the weather starts getting a little cooler, I start to get excited about my favorite season, fall. I love the cooler temperatures, the colors of the leaves changing, wearing cozy sweaters, pumpkin everything, and the comfort food! My husband and I got married in October because I love the fall so much. If you love the fall as much as I do, here are 10 essentials to update your home for fall.
New Bedding
As soon as the temps creep below 65 degrees, I love to replace my linen sheets with flannel ones. Climbing into a bed with warm cozy sheets is THE BEST!
Cozy Throw Blanket
Getting out of bed is already a struggle, but a plush blanket will make you want to hit the snooze button just one more time. I have a fabulous faux fur throw and a cable knit throw and I love to use them when I’m watching tv at night.
Candles
Any woodsy or spicy candle would be perfect to add a homey, fall scent to your home. Leaves and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin are my favorite.
Mugs
Do you drink a lot of hot chocolate and pumpkin spice coffees when the temperature drops? Try drinking a hot drink in one of these cute mugs!
Wicker baskets
Baskets help corral your belongings but using wicker baskets adds a layer of coziness to your home. You can find baskets of all sizes at many retailers but I find that Home Goods has the best prices.
Dutch Oven
Nothing says fall like making a warm, cozy pot of chili. How perfect is this pumpkin cast iron pot?
Cozy pillows
Pillows are a great and inexpensive way to update your home’s look for any season. Pillows made from velvet (so trendy this fall for clothing too), faux fur, and plaid will instantly make your home more cozy and inviting.
Seasonal Greenery
A bunch of magnolia leaves or a bouquet of sunflowers adds a fresh note to any room.
Hang A Wreath
Craft your way to a seasonal space with a DIY project or fake it with the store-bought version.
Extra Lighting
With the shorter days, you’ll want to add brighter lighting to your favorite spaces. I love the soft lighting that lamps provide and have lamps in all rooms, including the kitchen. The soft glow adds warmth to any room.
